CAMP ASSISTANT ROLE BASED IN ANTARCTICA
The Camp Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Front of House Manager to ensure the smooth running and efficient service of their Camp in line with the Company’s vision and values regarding guest service and satisfaction.

THE ROLE
- Responsible for the daily tidying and cleaning of all guest pods, including turn down bed/ room service,
- Cleaning and general tidying;
- Report any reoccurring deficiencies or repair needs to the Front of House Manager at the earliest time possible
- Provide support in keeping the entrance pod, lounge and dining areas clean and presentable at all times;
- Ensure accommodation is ready prior to guest arrival;
- Ensure hot and cold water thermoses are always refilled;
- Responsible for the daily cleaning of the shower pod;
- Responsible for the daily cleaning of the staff pod;
- Assist with the set up and serving of breakfast, lunch and dinner to guests;
- Assist with service and clearing of staff meals;
- Responsible for clearing and washing up after all meals;
- To assist the Front of House Manager on changeover day with the stock take of linen, towels and clothing items on loan to guests, as the items come in and out of Antarctica;
- Support with the movement of cargo and runway logistics including (but not limited to) the unloading of and storage of food and housekeeping items;
- Assist with organising food for treks, picnic lunches and 4×4 excursions with the chef;
- To assist the FOH Manager as needed;
- Work with the wider team to organise additional activities for the guests, both during excursions and in the evening.
GENERAL
- The above outlines the primary responsibilities for the roles/duties, is not exhaustive and may be changed at any time, dependent upon the operational requirements of White Desert Limited and within the parameters of the position; and
- From time to time, the performance of duties outside the sphere of this job description will be required, as and when necessary, dependent upon the operational requirements of White Desert Limited, this includes but is not limited to actively contributing to the daily maintenance of the White Desert Camps and ensuring a standard duty of care.
