TOUR GUIDE ROLE BASED IN CAPE TOWN (FREELANCE/CONTRACT BASE)

The Tour Guide will be responsible for getting our guests from point A to point B in a safe and timely manner. The Tour Guide will also be responsible for making sure that guests have accurate and informative experiences during their time in Cape Town. Three set itineraries have been curated for these experiences, Tour Guides will take guests on said experiences as well as transport them from and to Hotels, the airport and safety briefings. In season (Oct-Nov) Tour Guides will be required to be available whenever guests need them

THE ROLE

• Safely and responsibly transport guests to and from their destinations in a timely manner.
• Provide a high level of customer service including assisting guests with getting in and out of the vehicle, loading and unloading luggage and opening doors.
• Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle, both inside and out
• Adhere to ALL traffic laws and regulations
• Keep track of maintenance schedules and inform management of any issues with the vehicle.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanour at all times
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion of guest information

 

THE PERSON, REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Proven track record and outstanding ability to be client facing (polished, confident, able to engage at all levels);
• Dynamic personality and able to hold their own with wealthy international clientele
• High level of professionalism
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Experience in international tourism an advantage
• Able to maintain high confidentiality (of our high end clients names and personal information).
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
• Certified Tour Guide
• Valid PDP licence
• Previous experience as a chauffeur or professional driver of luxury vehicles
• Excellent knowledge of local traffic laws and routes
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful driving situations
• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
• Fluent in English
• Advanced Driving Certification (preferred)
