In one of our specially-fitted luxury planes, you’ll fly over thousands of icebergs into the Antarctic Circle, with 24-hour daylight. 

You’ll land on our ancient blue ice runway before being transferred to one of our camps.

Antarctica's travel season only runs in the southern hemisphere summer, from November to February, and our limited spaces fill up quickly. Don’t miss out on your chance to visit this remote continent without sacrificing the well-refined style you prefer.

White Desert operates the only runway for private aircraft in Antarctica, flying guests 5 hours from Cape Town right onto the ice of the 7th Continent.

With this option, you’ll spend nights on land where very few others have slept as there are only three operators with land camps in Antarctica. You’ll wake up to what feels like a completely different white planet.

To preserve this feeling of solitude, our camps only have 

accommodation for 12 guests at a time.

You’ll avoid seasickness and have significantly more time for activities that you could only really immerse yourself in while you are staying on land.

Places are limited as trips to Antarctica are possible from November to February only. This Best of Both itinerary is only available for the final week of the 2024/2025 season. Don’t miss out.

The most common way is by sea, usually from South America via cruise ship or yacht charter—Ushuaia is a popular departure point.

White Desert does not offer sea voyages to Antarctica. The oceans can be rough, with passengers via the Drake’s Passage especially reporting seas that cause seasickness even in normally strong-stomached travellers.

While some of these charters offer short expeditions onto the ice, accommodation is on the boat, so you’ll wake to views of Antarctica’s ocean and sometimes coastline rather than its landscapes.

Avoid all this by flying in and staying on the ice!
