SHOP ASSISTANT ROLE BASED IN CAPE TOWN

The Guest Relations Manager will be the initial and ongoing point of contact with Clientele. The role is characterised by being Client focused, with the full Guest Experience as a roadmap to success. This role will report to the Head of Hospitality.

THE ROLE

  • This role demands a nuanced understanding of the expectations of a discerning clientele, coupled with the ability to create a memorable shopping experience.
  • Ascertain customers’ needs and wants; Recommend and display items that match customer needs.
  • Arrange products on the display shelves
  • Process payments and keep the shop in pristine condition
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanour at all times
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion of guest information
  • Assist the Guest Operations Coordinator with any Guest-related tasks as and when required.

 

THE PERSON, REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Strong team spirit
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Working knowledge of relevant POS software and retail equipment
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Sales and persuasive skills
  • Customer service and good interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Fluent in English
  • 2 years working experience in retail – high end fashion preferrable
  • Internships, apprenticeships and volunteer opportunities are acceptable as work experience for this role.
  • Prior experience in attending to customers, creating and updating product inventories, managing a stock list and selling products will be useful.
  • Background in or currently studying Fashion is an advantage
